There are five categories of Membership in the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners: Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) Membership, Associate Membership, Student Associate Membership, Educator Associate and Public Membership. With approximately 25,000 Members in 70 countries around the world, the Association is dedicated to the single mission of reducing the incidence of fraud and white-collar crime through prevention and education. All people considering becoming Members of the Association should have a professional interest in the field of fraud examination. Typical Members include accountants, auditors, investigators, law enforcement personnel, loss prevention specialists, attorneys and prosecutors, managers and executives, academicians and students, and anti-fraud consultants. Anyone interested in becoming a Certified Fraud Examiner should apply for Associate Membership. Associate Membership provides the same benefits as CFE Membership and is a prerequisite for applying for the CFE Exam. College students in their third or final year of their bachelor’s degree should consider the Student Associate program. Professors or teaching staff at a university or college should consider the Educator Associate program. Whether you're a student, educator, novice or experienced anti-fraud professional, by becoming an Association Member, you'll experience growth in your career and gain the skills you need.
